Nominated for Best Documentary in Singapore’s National Youth Film Awards
Waiting For Tomorrow is a documentary about life, death and social stigma. We follow Kamaruddin, an illegal parking attendant (penjaga kereta) who has serious medical conditions – cataracts in one eye, a limp in his leg, and leaking wound on his torso from a botched appendix surgery.
To the locals, Kamaruddin is just the resident penjaga kereta who directs traffic and allocates parking spaces at Jalan Foo Choo Choon. Little do they know, Kamaruddin left his family years ago, leaving him homeless on the streets. This documentary examines Kamaruddin, the community around him and how he perceives life and death.
